Call her blessedProverbs 31:28 "Her children rise up and call her blessed."
How often do you strive to create the most beautiful home, especially when guests are coming over? I can remember my mother doing this as she was a stay at home mother who took great pride in keeping the house in order and trying to keep us, the children, in order as well. Would I say her children call her a blessed woman? Yes, absolutely. Her grandchildren do too. Just last week I was talking with my sister about all the things we are grateful for that our mother bestowed on us. The things she taught us and the lessons we somehow learned from osmosis of watching her. So for right now, I am not a Martha Stewart or in my case even a small reflection of my mom when it comes to keeping the house in order, but the other things, the things I think really matter- compassion, care, hope, and happiness- these are the things I pray to achieve each day as I saw my mom do while growing up. I would hope one day to be as enthusiastic about life as my mom was and still is, as nurturing and encouraging as my mom, and as steady and calm as my mom. Who is your inspiration for being a good homemaker?
These photos are from the baby shower I went to a week ago. The woman who hosted the shower at her home, is a wonderful home maker and inspiration for me as well. Comments
